The Eleventh Day of Christmas

On the eleventh day of Christmas a stamping friend sent to me:

Holiday Greetings using the Holiday Lineup stamp set. Thank you Robin! I love how she threaded the ribbon through part of the card using the Slot Punch.

The Tenth Day of Christmas

On the tenth day of Christmas a stamping friend sent to me:

A cute little snowman card to go with the foot of snow we have received in the last 8 hours. Thank you Carol for the Christmas greetings!

The Ninth Day of Christmas

After the eighth day of Christmas, our children started to arrive home and I somehow lost track of time. How nice it is to see everyone! With a little help from my friends I am going to post the remainder of The 12 Days of Christmas Cards before we leave for the airport to pick up the last child to return home!

This card was made using the Scallop Die. We made this card at a Christmas Card Workshop held back in November (what seems like ages ago!).

The Eighth Day of Christmas

On the eighth day of Christmas:

It is snowing again outside, so in the hopes of a "White Christmas" I am posting this snowflake card. The Big Shot and assorted dies have been a big hit this fall. Don't have one yet? Now is the time to take advantage of the Stampin'Up! Specials--free shipping, numerous discounts--check them out here. Let me know what is on your Christmas Wish List.

The Sixth Day of Christmas

On the sixth day of Christmas:

I want to share with you a handcrafted card made with banana bark. Food For The Poor started its Banana Bark program to help the destitute of the Caribbean by creating hundreds of jobs. Bark shed naturally by banana trees is gathered and handcrafted to create this beautiful Banana Bark card. Want to see more cards or learn more more about Food For The Poor, go to www.foodforthepoor.org

The Fifth Day of Christmas

On the fifth day of Christmas:

I decided to look at things differently. This may sound a bit deep but those of you that know me well will understand. Perhaps we spend way too much time worrying about that perfect gift idea or our holiday menu. Take a moment to step out of yourself and the holiday madness and peak down from the top (like the view of the snowman). Do you like what you see?

The Fourth Day of Christmas

On the fourth day of Christmas a stamping friend sent to me:

I love how she cut the tailgate open and inserted a Christmas tree. Thank you Kelly for this idea (another Kelly--I know three other Kelly's, must be a popular name)! So is your Christmas tree up yet? I am trying to decide whether to put up our tree this weekend or wait and do it as a family once everyone gets home. Any thoughts?

The Third Day of Christmas

On the third day of Christmas:

I found this really "sweet" card. It is a slider card I received from a recent swap. Debby K created this card. For a tutorial on how to make a slider card, click here. The rick rack was made using the Scallop Edge Punch.

The 12 Days of Christmas Cards

Welcome to The 12 Days of Christmas Cards for 2008! Last year I ran 12 different card ideas--some mine, some from others (if you send me a handmade Christmas Card you may see your card in lights) in a 12 days of Christmas fashion! There was some discussion among my husband and I about when this traditionally should start and whether it should be a countdown or countup! Then I had this idea: "It is my blog and I can do it anyway I want!" Enjoy!!!

On the first day of Christmas:

Send out a Go Green card--reduce, reuse, recycle! I love this card because it is a remake from other old cards. It doesn't matter if the cards that were cut up were Christmas Cards or not because they were cut into pieces to form the boot. This same idea could be used with a Christmas Tree. So save this year's Christmas Cards and see what you can come up with--and if you make a mistake just grind it up to make guinea pig bedding!

Too Stinkin' Cute

Normally I only post cards and scrapbook pages but I am feeling Grandmotherly (no reason though!!) and fell in love with these soft soled baby shoes. The baby modeling them can be seen here. He is too stinkin' cute, also. The pattern is free at Tacky Living.

'I Wish‘ 6×6 Photo Fold-Out Photo Holder

Surfing along today, I found this darling project that uses 1/2 of the 'I Wish' Simply Scrappin' Kit on Amy Celona's Blog. Check out her creative ideas here.

For those of you who are still checking my blog--surprise! I have finally updated. Thank you for being so patient with me these last few weeks. I made the following cards at a workshop hosted by my upline (the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I signed up under). I used the flowers from our Flower Fusion--custom-colored felt flowers that come in 14 flower designs in 3 colors. More than 130 individual pieces packaged in a fun tin. Hope you enjoy them! I promise to post again soon.

This card we made as a bonus card at the last workshop (I used it as a reminder to myself to tell the ladies about the workshop -- otherwise, I am sure I would have forgotten).

Thinking Ahead

Can't believe I am thinking ahead to March and it is still February but I wanted to show you again how to use the Scallop Punch to make cute little treats you can share for St. Patrick's Day--this time around I am calling them my Peppermint Paddies. This set, called Pinch Proof, from the new caddy is so much fun to play with. Thank you Thelma for letting me borrow it--I might just have to buy one for my own use!

A Link to Splitcoaststampers

Card Swaps

I've been busy working on two card swaps. I made 24 of these using the Faux Tile Technique (unfortunately, the photo doesn't show it very well). Using the scoring blade on the paper cutter, I scored diagonal lines, in both directions, one inch apart. This reminds me of a lattice fence. I used Blossoms Abound and Full of Life (from the new Occasions Mini Collection 2008 which starts March 1st)

and 20 of these Z-fold cards(perhaps my favorite card lately). I used Embrace Life and DSP Ginger Blossoms. I can't wait until I receive 44 new card ideas!

A Splash of Color

Today's workshop included a lot of new techniques.

Another New Post!

I haven't loaded many new cards lately so if it seems like I am all of a sudden uploading cards like crazy, I am! The featured stamp set today is Garden Whimsy. It makes me long for Spring--which the groundhog said would only be six weeks away and that was last week--only five weeks now!!! Maybe???
